I live in a condo and don't have a garage but do have a sliding glass door leading off of my dining room. I have room for the bike inside my breakfast room / living room to keep the bike but my gf (who dosen't live with me) thinks its to hoosier to keep the bike inside the house. I've got nice furniture and everything and she says it will ruin the inside of my condo and make it look really dumb. :rolleyes
I could get a cover for it and keep it right outside my sliding glass door in the back because it has a wall around it but I would rather have it inside for security reasons. I plan on buying either an R6 or Gixxer in the next month or two.
Opinions???

It may be against rules to keep a vehicle inside your condo. It could potentially get you kicked out or fined. Whatever you decide to do good luck.

Put it in the house....there IS no finer piece of furniture than a sportbike. Tell your girlfriend to get lost.
If it gets stolen because she convinced you to keep it outside, you're gonna resent her, and shit will just go downhill anyway. Put an old blanket down under it, and put it up on stands so the tires don't screw the carpet up. Good to go....

There is nothing more I love than knowing while I'm watching TV I can look 45 degrees to my left and see my baby parked in the kitchen.
My fiance' hates the fact that it is in the house, but I explained to her that we would not leave a $5,000 bill in the driveway, so why leave the bike? She still hates it, but she's very understanding.

Yeppers...I used to park it on a piece of plywood in the corner of the living room, minus the tank, for the winters when I lived in St. Louis...

I have a garage so it's not an issue for me. But I have parked the bike in a hotel room before (when traveling) rather than leave it outside all night.

yep. i kept my yzf600r inside my ground floor 1bedroom apt. for months til a snitch told the front office, and then there was a quite unfriendly letter posted on my door one day about being in violation of section x.y clause z of my lease about gasoline containers and other combustible things being a fire hazard to the entire building my apt. was in and how if i don't park the motorcycle outside in the parking lot (not in the breezeway either) my lease will be terminated.
sigh. so now my bike sits outside in the parking lot where i am always relieved to come home and still see it there (although i now ride it almost everyday anyway except this week cause i am packing to move). live in the good part of town where crime and theft is low, is all i can tel lyou. don't live in the hood somewhere and expect to keep your bike.
just as long as no one knows you are putting it in your living room, you'll be fine. mine actually matched my furniture perfectly. it is silver and black, and all my furniture, tv, dvd, etc is either silver, or black, or both. actually a coincidence, but i loved it.

yeah, that would be against fire code if you parked it inside with all the fluids still in it, battery hooked up, etc. I was told I can't even park it underneath my front porch of my apt. As per code, it had to be at least 10 feet away from any flammable substance thats a part of the apartments. So under the car port she went...

Keep it inside man. As for the girl, PIIHB and then tell her to hit the road.
I told my girlfriend (erhm ex-girlfreind, maybe this is why):
1. Bike
2. Car
3. You
4. Me

I have a w/o basement so it really isn't an issue, but will moving soon and won't have that luxury anymore. I think i will park it inside my new place if at all possible to get in the apt.

does garage count as inside? i have it inside with an alarm on with the perimeter sensor set and a disc lock and 2 boxer dogs that serve as early warning system. I dont let my bike stay outside unless at work and even then I bring it inside. I have heard to many ppl bitch about their bikes getting stolen b/c they left them out overnight.
